On September 10, 2023, a friend captured a series of Japanese-style portrait photographs of me. These photos were inspired by the photography styles of 石田真澄 and 增田彩来. I hold a deep affection for these vibrant snapshots because, in my perspective, photographs are not merely images; they serve as vessels of memories. I aspire to employ these pictures to document every phase of my life, from youth to old age.
Each moment captured through the lens is utterly unique. The sunset and sunrise of yesterday differ from the scenes today presents. The bookstore I frequented yesterday and the one I visited today each bear distinct characteristics, as do the strangers sitting beside me. Even the coffee I enjoyed yesterday and the brew of today may well have been concocted by different hands. Yesterday’s emotions undoubtedly contrast with those of today.
Although life may appear mundane, repeating day after day, there are always moments worthy of eternal preservation through the medium of photography.
