Why are Samarium Cobalt Magnets Unique?

Samarium cobalt magnets are familiar to those in the magnetic materials industry. In the era dominated by neodymium iron boron magnets, samarium cobalt magnets still enjoy exclusive popularity in many products and industries due to their excellent magnetic properties and resistance to demagnetization.

Samarium cobalt magnets are categorized into SmCo5 and SmCo17 based on their composition. SmCo5 is suitable for working temperatures up to 250°C, while SmCo17 can withstand up to 350°C. This is one of the key reasons for the popularity of samarium cobalt magnets.
